TAR-Based Domino Effect Model for Maritime Accidents

چکیده

To thoroughly figure out the distribution and formation mechanism of maritime accidents, this study proposes a domino effect model based on temporal association rules (TAR) to analyze mine secrets behind accident—the accident chains. In study, British Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) reports are gathered examined. Of which, Ro-Ro ships, general cargo container ships top three ship types discussed. The is applied detected yielding series results. These show that resulting values from unsafe working practices death while very high 8.622 (Ro-Ro ship), 5.920 (General ship) 6.441 (Container respectively. It indicates prone accidents involving working. approach ubiquitous, chains compiled them may be widely employed in marine prevention proactive safety management.

Historical Analysis Of Accidents Involving Domino Effect

A study of 261 accidents involving domino effect has been carried out. The main features have been analyzed: origin, causes, consequences and most frequent sequences. The analysis has shown that the most frequent causes are external events (31%) and mechanical failure (30%). The storage areas (37%) and process plants (27%) are by far the most common places where domino accidents have occurred. ...

Strategic Approach Model for Investigating the Cause of Maritime Accidents

It is commonly accepted that the majority of maritime causalities are caused by human factors/errors. The role of human factor in maritime accident and the possible reasons of this argument can be quantitatively evaluated based on expert knowledge and multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) methodology. To investigate what makes the first “human factor” in ship accidents, a hybrid approach was...

The domino effect for markets

As studied by Vandewalle et al [1], different stock markets like Tokyo, Frankfurt and New York are not independent of each other. We try to reproduce this observation in the well-known Cont-Bouchaud [2, 3] percolation model. We will find that indeed in about 32 % of the cases all three markets have the same sign of change, as seen in reality [1]. The Cont-Bouchaud model[2, 3] treats each percol...

Decision Rule Extraction for Maritime Accidents in Inland Rivers Based on Rough Set

In view of data mining for the decision-making of the inland waterway transportation, we study a rough set based approach to extract the decision rules with historical maritime accidents data in the inland rivers. In order to solve the NP-hard problem of attribute reduction in Rough Set Theory, the genetic algorithm based attribute reduction is proposed and described in detailed steps. Noting t...

Agent-based Model of Maritime Drug Smuggling

Drug smuggling is a worldwide problem with many negative e ects on the society. It is important to understand and predict smuggler's behavior in order to best position patrolling assets and disrupt his supply chain. The goal of this thesis is formalize smuggler's behavior and compare it with real-world data. Smuggler's route planner makes the main component of this thesis, it's formalized as bi...
